Three Birds sat on a Ledge
A Poem
Nov 5, 2020
Three birds sat on a ledge,
Singing their hearts, merging their tones —
Suddenly one broke off into a song of its own.
The others confused,
Then worried — horrified — fluttering with rage.
How dare this bird break off from their song,
A sigh — a breath — a heave — a push.
Down went the bird who dare shook,
the harmony of the rest.
Two birds sat on a ledge,
singing their hearts, merging their tones —
