The internet is rife with people pointing at data, graphs, statements from the age of the dinosaurs, looking smugly at the camera to show their superiority over an invisible opponent. Sometimes that opponent is half the world’s population, while other times it is a specific individual who is probably just trolling. This debauchery becomes even more evident during an election year, and now thanks to platforms which promote short bite sized clips, it has unbelievably managed to degrade even further. Folks who pose a face of compassion everyday, suddenly become rabid savages jumping on the internet’s branches and screaming about their superiority over ever pleb who does not agree with them. Then the cycle is multiplied further when other apes agree with the screaming ape and in unison the noise tribe goes ballistic. Now if there is an army of smug sounds shattering the local ear drums, then a rebellion of equal force must be needed. Thus, the modern minutemen muster their own strain of rabies and launch the counter. The battle of the hyper intelligent big brain advanced IQ evolutionary arms race of smugness rages on. Families torn. Friendships broken. Absolute carnage. In the end, one human rises to the top. The winning side cries tears of joy, while the losers cry the end of the world. Years pass, the joy dissipated only seconds after, the world also did not end, the prophecies untrue, the savages civilized — mostly. The screaming apes now pose their kindness, generosity, and superior levels of wholesomeness for all to see. A few even dare pose their wildness, or extravagance; however, those apes risk attracting hatred from the rest of the jungle. After all anyone who dares act superior to everyone else must be the worst kind of diseased ape.

Then one day, the jungle stirs, the air changes, the water flow reverses. Time stops and the full moon shines bright. First a few, then more, transform into their Super Sayan Ape forms. The jungle goes back to war.
